Membership Requirements
 
 
Requirements For Local Membership
 
Any Pre-Health Professional student is welcome.
A membership fee of $25 per semester or $40 per academic year.
 
Requirements For National Membership
 
Must have completed at least 45 hours of coursework with a grade point avererage of at least 3.2 overall and a grade point average of at least 3.2 in math and sciences.
A National Membership fee of $75 payable in the spring semester.
NOTE: Local membership dues are required for the fall semester prior to induction in the spring ($25).
You must submit all transfer and UNT transcripts to: Dr. Beck, GAB Rm. 220. Transcripts sent through intercampus mail are accepted. Please indicate AED on the mailer label.
If you paid for a Fall and Spring local membership ($40) then your National Membership fee is $60.

Requirements for Honor Cords
 
All AED members must be an active member by participating in AED events and attending meetings at UNT in order to qualify to wear an AED Honor Cord on graduation day.

If You Cannot Attend Meetings
If you cannot attend the AED meetings then you can still be a member of AED if you pay your local membeship fee and actively participate in other AED related activities: community service, social events, field trips. Please refer to the point system, a separate page on this website, to determine what to do in order to maintain membership. You need to earn 6 points per semester in order to maintain active membership.
